Gabriel ARGY-ROUSSEAU (1885-1953) & Géo PRINTEMPS (XIXth-XXth) (Georges PRINTEMPS, DIT) "Colombes" model created in [1923] & "Plumes de paon" (Peacock feathers) Table lamp; the obus-shaped lampshade, the moving foot and the title floral motifs; the two paired pieces not original. The polychrome glass-paste cap features doves in relief in reserves and treated in white and red, stylized flower motifs in relief colored in red and violet, and passementerie-style separations also in relief and violet. The bronze foot, formerly gilded, features peacock feather motifs on the base and a hoop to receive the lampshade, enriched with a variation of the base decoration. The glassware is signed G. ARGY-ROUSSEAU, the base signed Géo. PRINTEMPS and bears the Eug. BLOT Paris on the edge of the base. Total height: 53.5 cm. Shade alone: H.: 20.5 cm - D.: 21 cm. Base alone: H.: 40 cm - D.: 22 cm. (A burst bubble near the top of the glass paste shell, the foot and lampshade paired not original, heavy wear and missing gilding on the foot). Glassmaking bibliography: Janine Bloch-Dermant - G.
