Round tortoiseshell box inlaid with gold stars and small mother-of-pearl circles, the lid decorated with a grisaille miniature depicting the attributes of love: a column with two doves, a bow and arrows, the dog of fidelity and a medallion monogrammed LL, surrounded by 375 thousandths (9 carats) gold, late 18th - early 19th century, diameter 6.9 cm. Numerous dents to the scales.
