In-4: 2f, 8pp, XXXVI, 537pp, 1f; allegorical frontispiece by MARILLIER, engraved by Simonet, with three plans (including one of the city of Bordeaux), copy without the portraits of MONTESQUIEU and MONTAIGNE.
Contemporary marbled fawn basane, spine ribbed and ornamented, one bit cracked at the head, double gilt fillet on the edges, yellowed edges.
First part, the only one published, "of a work said to be 'the best' on the city of Bordeaux" (Quérard).
