A collection full of autographs following a series of issues of the journal L'Autographe. Included are autograph words and letters from Auguste Comte (founder of Positivism), 2 original ink drawings constituting a rebus and a pencil drawing by Philippe Jules Joseph Rickebusch (active in the second half of the 19th century), letter from Bounaurre de Lovy (writer), letters addressed to M. Large in-4 oblong. Issues of the autograph (1865 and salon 1864) and letters, drawings and documents, sometimes annotated in the margins, pasted on sheets of paper following the issues of the magazine.
Provenance: Album from the library of the Mieulet de Lombrail family (Paris and Lot-et-Garonne), probably composed by Alexis Jean Armand Mieulet de Lombrail (or a family member), a native of Tarn-et-Garonne, a young aristocrat whose family descended from the Garonne nobility. He attended a Catholic preparatory school in Versailles and espoused positivist ideas. He was a pupil of Auguste Comte.
