Gironde - Photographs [WW2 - LIBOURNE - SOULAC - LE VERDON - POINTE de GRAVE] Set of period photographs containing 2 albums, plates and photographs mainly concerning the liberation of Libourne and the rebuilding of its infrastructure. Contents: - 1/ Liberation of Libourne (August 1944): Set of 34 photos, including 12 clichés (16.5x11.5 cm). Photographer's signature "Perboyre - Libourne" (embossed in lower right-hand corner), 20 plates in various formats mounted on flexible cardboard and 2 photographs (9x9 cm). - 2/ Libourne, reconstruction work carried out by the 10th engineering regiment C.O.G. 518: a/ Set of 57 photos contained in 2 albums, mostly by Libourne photographer Perboyre (66 rue Gambetta in Libourne), various formats; detailed list of photos appended to the albums - b/ Set of 13 photos (most with wet stamp on back "Photographe d'art - Bonny - Libourne", various formats. - 3/ Soulac - Le Verdon - Pointe de Grave (1945): views of ruins and various demolitions (4x4 cm format). The 518 engineering organization center was created on January 1, 1945 in Libourne, before becoming the 10th engineering regiment based in Besançon on January 1, 1946.
