The Taiheiki is a literary work from the Nanbokuch period (14th century), attributed to the monk Kojima (), which recounts the political intrigues and struggles that divided Japan between 1318 and 1367 for succession to the empire. In the title of the series presented here, in Japanese "Taiheiki Shi".
Provenance: Copy from the library of Alexis Jean Armand Mieulet de Lombrail (1828-1904), a native of Tarn-et-Garonne, a young aristocrat whose family came from the Garonne nobility. He attended a Catholic preparatory school in Versailles and espoused positivist ideas.
He was a pupil of Auguste Comte.
