Contemporary marbled fawn calf, ornate smooth spines, red title-pieces, 2 damaged headpieces, 2 stretched headpieces, rubbing from use, cold fillet framing the boards, gilt fillet on the edges, dull corners, red edges.
The original translation dates from 1712. Antoine Galland was a French orientalist who specialized in ancient manuscripts and coins. Posterity has mainly remembered his work as a translator.
