3 parts in one volume in-4: 8f., 201pp., 76pp. illustrated with a fine double-page map of Lyon by Bouchet, an out-of-text view of the tomb of the two lovers by Delamonce, and 113 fine engraved plates of coats of arms of the aldermen from 1596 to 1711. Some leaves slightly browned.
Contemporary fawn calf, spine ribbed and ornamented, headband damage, red title page, gilt fillet with small fleurons in spandrels framing the boards, epidermis, gilt roulette on the edges, red edges.
First edition. Claude Brossette was an avocat général at the Lyon courts and administrator of the Hôtel-Dieu hospital. He was one of the founders of the Académie des sciences, belles-lettres et arts de Lyon in 1700.
