First edition DIDEROT (A4060) Les Bijoux indiscrets. Au Monomotapa [Paris], sd. [1748]. 2 volumes in-12 : 5f., 370pp. / 2f., 420pp. ; illustrated with a frontispiece, a repeated title vignette, and 6 plates out of text. Contemporary fawn granite calf, ornate smooth spines, brown titles and endpapers, small accident to the headband at the foot of volume II, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, gilt fillet on the edges, interior gilt roulette, jaws slightly cracked at the entries to volume II, minor wear, edges gilt. First edition. Conforms to Tchémerzine's referencing (Tchémerzine II, 922). Provenance: Printed bookplate A4514 of Aspit de Saint Amand.
