Numerous defects (light rings, bands of paper reinforcing the margins, traces of worms in the margins at the end of the volume). Handwritten bookplates on title pages. Antique soft vellum. A veritable treatise on moral philosophy, offering an overview of the philosophical and physiological knowledge of the second half of the 16th century, in which is discussed the creation, matter, composition, form, nature, utility & use, of all parts of human buildings & the natural causes of all affections, & the virtues & vices & immortality of the soul. The author was a gentleman of Monsieur's chamber in 1580, and later advisor and maître d'hôtel to the king.
