First edition of this important work on the history of buccaneering. These supposed memoirs recount the long career of Beauchêne, a famous buccaneer born in Montreal.

Contemporary fawn basane, spine ribbed and decorated, title page missing, headband frayed, gilt roulette on edges, corners dulled, rubbed and with minor defects, marbled edges.
Duguay-Trouin's famous memoirs. In 1689, he began his career as a French privateer, and in 1691 was given command of a ship.
