Contemporary marbled fawn calf, smooth ornate spine, stretched headbands, one bit cracked, marbled edges. - GRÉTRY: Mémoires ou essais sur la musique. Paris, Verdière, 1812. 3 volumes in-8. Contemporary fawn roots calf, ornate smooth spines, red title-pieces and tomaisons, one bit cracked, small leather losses, gilt roulette framing the boards, gilt roulette on the edges, marbled edges. Provenance: Copy from the library of Alexis Jean Armand Mieulet de Lombrail (1828-1904), a native of Tarn-et-Garonne, a young aristocrat whose family came from the Garonne nobility. He attended a Catholic preparatory school in Versailles and embraced positivist ideas. He was a pupil of Auguste Comte.
