PITTON de TOURNEFORT (Joseph) Institutiones rei Herbariae. Paris, Tupographia Regia, 1719. 3 volumes in-4: 3f, XXXII, 695pp, 1fb, 4f, 54pp / engraved title, plates 1-252 / engraved title, plates 253 to 489. Light staining at outer edge on first 3 leaves of vol. 1 and at edge of some plates. Contemporary granulated basane, ornate ribbed spine, red title-pieces and tomaisons (title-pieces of volumes II and III inverted), small leather tears, epidermis and rubbing, corners worn, red edges. Second edition in Latin of Élemens de botanique, which appeared in French in 1694. This third edition includes supplements by A. de Jussieu and a life of the author.
