Pagination error between volumes I and II. Contemporary speckled brown calf, spine ribbed and ornamented, clumsy repairs to headpieces, small leather losses, cracked jaws, epidermal marks and stains on boards, dull corners. First edition of the translation by Pierre Du Ryer, translator of Cicero, Herodotus, Seneca, Ovid, etc., and author of some twenty plays (mainly tragedies). The work contains the first two Decades and the Supplemens by J. Freinshemius on the second Decade. Volume II contains the Third to Fifth Decades, and Florus's Summaries on the books not found in Titus Live. He mastered almost all the languages of Europe, in addition to Latin and Greek. The supplements to Quinte curce, Tacitus and Titus Live contain excellent notes and tables.
