Modern red Bradel-style boards, gilt title throughout. A good copy. - CAMUS (Cyprien): Nouvelles réflexions sur les eaux de Cauterets, et quelques autres sources des Pyrénées. Auch, imp. Roger, 1838. In-8. ½ contemporary black basane, smooth spine decorated with rocaille irons. A good copy. Revised edition of "Opuscules sur Cauterets et ses Eaux Minérales-Chaudes. Ouvrage nécessaire aux praticiens, et aux personnes atteintes de maladies chroniques pour lesquelles on les recommande généralement" (published by the same publisher in 1817). The differences are significant. - SÉNAC-LAGRANGE (C.) Dr: Études sur Cauterets, ses environs, ses montagnes, ses sources et leurs applications médicales. Paris, Masson, Pau and Cauterets, Cazaux, 1875. Small in-8; a single figure, a plan, a table and 2 folding maps, all out of text. Contemporary ½ red basane, gilt title and fillets on smooth spine. Uncommon. Curiously organized work: a lot of geology and mineralogy to start with (half the volume), then thermalism, meteorology and climatic conditions (so far, so good). This chapter ends with life in the mountains, shepherds and their flocks, bear, capercaillie and isard hunting (!) and "Unity of forces in the world" (10 pages to explain life on earth (!!)). The penultimate chapter attacks the history of Bigorre and the poet Despourrins (!!!) and the last: Cauterets, Marguerite de Valois, l'usage et l'action des eaux thermales dans les maladies (!!!!).
