[CLUB ALPIN FRANCAIS] Annuaire du Club Alpin Français. Paris, C.A.F., Hachette. We offer the complete collection from 1874 to 1903 + the tables written by LEMERCIER which cover the entire publication, i.e. 30 volumes of text and one of tables. 31 strong in-8 volumes of 500 to 700pp. each, with in- and out-of-text photo illustrations, lithographs, engravings, views and maps in black and color. The line panoramas and most of the drawings are by SCHRADER and SLOM. A very fine copy. Complete collections are rare, especially when bound. Published annually from 1874 to 1903 in conjunction with the Bulletin du C.A.F., the latter being strictly a general information bulletin. The Annuaire section includes feature articles, reports on races and scientific or scenic excursions. This excellent publication brings together all the great names of pre-war Pyreneanism (to mention only the Pyrenees!), from Édouard WALLON to the CADIER brothers, via SCHRADER, RUSSELL, LEQUEUTRE, BRULLE, SAINT-SAUD, GOURDON, MARTEL, BOUILLE, PACKE, BELLOC, BRIET, BAYSSELLANCE, LE BONDIDIER, and many others. From 1905, the directory merged with the bulletin to form a single magazine: La Montagne. The early years were very Pyrenean (Brulle III 52 et seq.)(Labarère 37)(Perret 1823).
