DAULLIA (Émile) Au Pays des Pyrénées. Paris, Mendel, sd. (1903-1904). Large in-8: 2f, IV, 314 pp. ; 24 plates hors texte photo. ½ burgundy banded chagrin, gilt title on lightened spine, publisher's cover retained, gilt head. A good copy. De Gorsse gives it as 1904, also exists dated 1903. Account of a trip made in 1891. The cover bears the subtitle: "Alpes et Pyrénées Tome II". Volume 1, published in 1899, concerns the "Tour du Mont-Blanc". Mendel published mainly illustrated works on photography, which explains the high quality of the plates. "Extremely amusing", says Beraldi, "and it teaches us the liveliness of impressions and seizures that the Pyrenees can still provoke after so many accounts" (Labarère 453)(Perret 1218).
