DRUÈNE (Bernard) colonel - Lot 114
DRUÈNE (Bernard) colonel
Les Devis de l'Ingénieur Thierry. Toulouse, Douladoure, 1951-1953.
3 parts in-8: 30pp, 1f / 32pp / 40pp (covers serve as titles). An anonymous handwritten note specifies: printed in 100 copies.
3 volumes bound in contemporary ½ brown basane with corners, gilt title and author on spine.
Offprint from the Revue de Comminges t. LXIII-LXIV-LXV of 1950-1952. This "Devis" "written from 1687 to 1688 by the engineer Thierry is the oldest detailed descriptive study... on our country". "The introduction and estimate of the roads were published in the Revue de Comminges (Tome LXIII, 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter 1950). Colonel DRUENE, who shared his passion for the Pyrenees and for military art, was also a great bibliophile, and wrote many interesting articles, such as "L'Aventure pyrénéenne d'Alexandre Brongniart" in 1980, but no substantial work on the Pyrenees, which is a great pity. The same applies to Pierre Caillau-Lamicq (Massie 244).
