Marguerite Gaston calls him Swiss, but gives no date. Author of numerous collections of views of European water cities. Although he exhibited paintings, his life sketches were done in pencil and mainly monogrammed. The Doazan and Caillau-Lamicq collections enriched their holdings on this occasion (Harambourg Dict. des Peintres Paysagistes Français au XIXe p. 191) (Benezit VI, 8)(M. Gaston 260-61 and 329-30).
