(table); lithographed frontispiece on chine mounted by CHATINIÈRE after Gustave DORÉ. Black morocco cloth, red title page on spine. The original edition is presumed to have appeared in the course of 1869. The second is by Paris et Pau, l'Auteur; Bayonne, Goffe, 1874. The title is slightly different. Ours is not much later than 1874. The portrait that appeared in the previous 2 is not indicated on the title. We have consulted another copy of this edition, which also lacks the portrait. An excellent and much sought-after work, rarely in good condition. Complete with the lithograph by Gustave DORE, which appears here for the second time.
