Large in-8: XII + 634 pp, fleurons, culs-de-lampe and 10 steel engravings by Léopold Flameng after painters of the time (Devéria, Rubens, Bonington, Steuben, Gérard, Fleury, etc.). One of 25 copies on Hollande paper, the only large paper, numbered and signed by the publisher. Copy with full margins.
Green morocco signed ALLÔ, spine ribbed and decorated, title, author and figure of Henri IV between coffers, central gilt arms of Henri IV and gilt crowned figure in spandrels, double gilt fillet on edges, wide inner gilt lace, gilt head. A very fine copy.
Provenance: Ex-libris printed with the arms of the Murat family alliance (arms of Prince Joachim Mural, King of Naples) and the French family with 3 fleurs-de-lys. Pastiche gilt arms and number of Henri IV on boards.
