Cartography - Lot 282
[Paris, Imp. Bry], 1867. 725 X 760 mm sheet engraved by ERHARD, hydrographic network in blue, captioned, title in one corner. Missing, as usual, the separate 16-page text fascicle. Tiled, canvas-backed and folded to in-8 format, in publisher's green folder with gilt title on upper cover. Map at 1/60,000 scale, with South at the top. No indication of relief, but precise information on the layout of lakes, routes and trails, at least in certain sectors. The absence of levelling makes the map easier to read. Original edition, unknown to Massie, who only mentions the identical reprint of 1887. As the adjoining fascicle of 1887 is marked IIIe édition, it is possible that the map reported by Massie is from the third edition, but we have never come across a map with an intermediate date. Paris, Logerot, sd. Accordion-fold map, in-8 format, in publisher's red folder with gilt title on upper cover.
