This is the first of the museum's exhibition catalogs, and many more were to follow. The addendum leaflet is rare, as it was printed after the opening of the exhibition. Managed by the Touring Club de France, the Musée Pyrénéen, created by Le Bondidier from empty premises, an endowment of 600 francs and no remuneration, became France's third-largest museum in terms of visitor numbers, just behind the Louvre and Versailles! It was the first museum in France to introduce paid admission. The funds raised by admission tickets alone were sufficient to pay the staff, invest in new collections, maintain the château, pay royalties to the town of Lourdes... with the rest of the profits going to help other museums or to safeguard heritage. We'll appreciate it!
