Rare version SOUTRAS (Frédéric) The Pyrenees illustrated. Drawings by Maxime LALANNE and Émile de MALBOS. Tarbes, Cazaux, sd. (ca. 1860-70). In folio: 72pp. (including lithographed title), framed text; 10 photographic plates on soft boards mounted on tabs, most protected by dust jackets. Excellent condition. ½ black chagrin, ornate ribbed spine, gilt title on board framed by large cold scrolls, gilt edges. This is not the "large" 1858 version, which has the same title. This one is rarer with this title, and this strange version is the only copy we've come across curiously illustrated with 10 mounted photographic plates. The title is misleading, as there are no drawings by MALBOS (Labarère 1538).
