In-12: 2f., 386pp. 3f. (catalog). ½ blond calf, spine ribbed, red author, black title. A good copy.
First edition under this title (republished in 1855 and 1860) or 3rd edition much enlarged of : "Les Eaux Bonnes, Souvenirs de la Saison de 1850". Published in 1851. This Parisian journalist, author of novels and short stories, took part in the 1848 Revolution and published numerous anti-revolutionary articles in various magazines. Les Eaux-Bonnes" was awarded a special medal by the Empress. It was Nicolle who gave Luchon the title of "Queen of the Pyrenees".

Uncommon. The first 208 pages concern the Pyrenees. This is not a work of popular science, but an authentic Alpino-Majorquo-Pyrenean text. These recollections take place between 1879 and 1889. A collection of articles published in the Bulletin de la section S.O. du C.A.F. and in the Revue des B.P. et des Landes. The 2nd series, published in 1913, concerns Corsica, the Alps and the Massif Central.
