½ period fawn basane, smooth spine decorated, "Jourdain" gilt at foot, yellow edges.
A rare work. The author, original and extravagant, born and resident in Hasparren, was little inclined to the protocols and hierarchical proprieties of the Church. His exalted nature and character come to the surface when he speaks of the Basques and their country. (Beard 464)(Bilbao IV,330)
