Autograph letter from the author. ½ period fawn basane, ornate smooth spines, black titles, marbled edges. A good copy. Jean-Baptiste-Léonard Durand was the administrator of the Compagnie du Sénégal from 1785 to 1786; report of his voyage to the kingdom of Galam, where he concluded several trade treaties with the Moors, composing the beginning of the atlas, with the text in bilingual version reproduced.
