Signed Anselme Petetin (director of the Imprimerie Impériale) - Paris, July 14, 1862. A second sheet appended to the suite (the paper is different): note and autograph of the general in return - Under the reign of Napoleon III: general. Charles Cousin-Montauban, Cte de Palikao - Senator. Red chagrin, gilt title on spine, suite of 3 double gilt fillets interlaced at corners, gilt roulette on edges, quadruple fillet inside, green moiré silk endpapers, gilt edges. A fine copy. Detailed and official account of the Franco-British expedition to China in 1860, whose origins go back to the second Opium War in 1856.
